Final Exam

Hello and sorry you could not present today, but I have a strong flu and had to go back home.  We will try to set up an extra class before the semester ends so that you can present your projects.

FINAL EXAM

SECTION 1 Grammar
Five questions. 20% of your grade
Sentences with mistakes you will have to correct (these are the sentences we studied in class)

SECTION 2 Listening comprehension
Ten questions. 30% of your grade
Listening comprehension from this website www.ted.com  Please visit the website and listen to as many talks as you can to become familiar with it.  Questions will be of different nature, such as true/false, fill in the blank,  multiple choice, short answer.

SECTION 3 Reading comprehension
Ten questions. 30% of your grade
Answer questions about an article about marketing and advertising.  Questions will be of different nature, such as true/false, fill in the blank,  multiple choice, short answer.

SECTION 4 Writing
20% of your grade
Write a one-paragraph critique of a commercial I will show you at the time of the exam.  You must not describe the commercial, but write a critique stating what you think about it.  This means to decide if the commercial is good/effective or not and give two to four reasons to support your opinion.

The Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC) is “an English language test designed specifically to measure the everyday English skills of people working in an international environment.”

The TOEIC Listening & Reading test is a 2-hour multiple-choice test consisting of 200 questions divided into 100 questions each in listening comprehension and reading comprehension. Each candidate receives independent scores for written and listening comprehension on a scale from 5 to 495 points. The total score adds up to a scale from 10 to 990 points. The TOEIC certificate exists in five colors, corresponding to achieved results :
